Simonetta Grilli got her degree in Physics in Naples (Italy) with highest honor and her PhD at KTH in Stockholm (Sweden). She is currently a team-leader researcher at CNR-ISASI. The main skills include ferroelectric domain reversal, digital holography, optical microscopy. Current activities include the development of innovative microfluidic platforms that make use of pyroelectric fields for a wide variety of applications that include biosensors, dielectrophoresis, electrospinning, ink-jet printing, cell/material interactions, cell patterning. She is co-editor of the book Ferroelectric Crystals for Photonic Applications by Springer (2008). She received the Doctoral Thesis Award in Optoelectronics from the IEEE-LEOS society. She is co-author of more than 80 papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
