Buongiorno Regione (Rai 3): BIO&BIO Project

The BIO&BIO project has as its main objective to restore competitiveness to mountain and high hill farms through the enhancement of cereal agro-biodiversity and their organic cultivation. This aim will be pursued through an experimental activity which aims to identify the combinations of ancient genotypes of the Triticum species, which, sown simultaneously in the same plot, and therefore cultivated in a mixture under organic cultivation, they are able to show the best performance in terms of yield in the field and preparation for the first and second transformation. As part of this project, the ISASI research group, coordinated by Dr. Massimo Rippa and with the contribution of Dr. Pasquale Mormile, through the use of instruments supplied by the “Thermography and Infrared Imaging Laboratory” of the institute, will deal with the analysis and monitoring of the physiological states of the various crops considered, connected to thermal variations possibly induced by stress of various kinds, through the use of non-invasive imaging systems operating in the infrared spectral regions. The activity of the ISASI researchers will be carried out within one of the WPs of the project for which they are also responsible.
