From April 19 to 24, 2026, Torre del Greco will host the international conference PSST 2026, an important scientific event dedicated to surface science and technology, interfaces, and advanced materials, with particular focus on their applications in nanotechnology and biotechnology.
The event, supported by SIOF and the Municipality of Torre del Greco, is organized under the guidance of General Chair Luca De Stefano and represents an opportunity for discussion and exchange among researchers, academics, and professionals from research institutions and universities worldwide. The scientific program will include sessions on topics such as functional nanostructures, porous materials, biosensors, photonics, plasmonics, bio-interfaced surfaces, and technologies for environmental and biomedical applications. Significant attention will also be given to contributions on advanced characterization techniques and innovative fabrication processes.
A central role in the local organization has been played by the Institute for Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems (ISASI) of the National Research Council (CNR), through the contribution of the local organizing committee composed of Principia Dardano and Ilaria Rea, senior researchers, and Domenico Passaro, technical staff member of the institute. Their efforts have ensured the coordination of logistical and scientific activities, contributing to the successful organization of a high-level international event.

The choice of Torre del Greco as the conference venue highlights the strategic role of the Campania region in promoting scientific research and technological innovation, particularly in the fields of nanoscience and advanced technologies for sustainability. In addition to the scientific program, PSST 2026 will offer participants the opportunity to discover the cultural and scenic excellence of the Vesuvian area.
The conference thus confirms itself as a relevant international platform for knowledge exchange and the development of interdisciplinary collaborations, enhancing the contribution of the participating research institutions and strengthening the dialogue between the scientific community and the local territory.
