Short Bio

Alessio Crescitelli is a staff researcher at the National Research Council (CNR) since 2018 and currently works at the Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems of CNR. He graduated in Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 2005 and received the PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Sannio in 2009. His main research topics are the fabrication and characterization of Lab on Chip and Lab on Fiber devices for telecom and sensing applications. Actually, he is involved in developing of metasurface-based photonic sensors for environmental and bio-medical fields through many collaborations with researcher of University of Sannio, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, CERN, INFN, University of Salerno, and other CNR Intitutes (INO, IBB, IEOS). His expertise focuses in the fields of nanotechnologies (especially in top-down methods), plasmonics, optoelectronics, photonics, physical-chemistry of advanced materials and bio-sensing and has a consolidated experience in nanostructures manufacturing, morphological/ optical characterization, and optical fibre-based devices. He has supervised and tutored graduate theses in “Electronic Engineering for Automation and Telecommunications” at the University of Sannio. Moreover, he operates as Guest editor of a Biosensors special issue and referee for peer-reviewed journals belonging to the following publishers: Nature, Elsevier, MDPI and IEEE. Responsible of two project financed respectively by European and Italian funds. Bibliometric data: H-index of 19 (Scopus) and 21 (Google Scholar); Co-author of more than 70 scientific articles on international peer-reviewed journals, 4 book chapters, 6 industrial patents and co-editor of a Springer book; His Publications have more than 1600 citations.
