Short Bio

Dr. Maurizio Casalino earned a PhD in electrical engineering from University “Mediterranea” of Reggio Calabria, after a Laurea (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from University of Naples "Federico II". In the 2010, he joined as researcher the Institute of Applied Sciences and Intelligent Systems in Naples (ISASI-NA). He is responsible in charge of the electronic laboratory and of fundamental technologies of the Clean Room of ISASI-NA. He has been teaching optoelectronic and photonic at the University of Calabria and Analog Electronics and Physics of the Semiconductors and Devices University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He is now pursuing his interests in the design, fabrication and characterization of silicon active and passive photonic devices enhanced by the use of emerging materials as single layer graphene. During his research activity, he has collaborated for carrying out several research projects financed by the CNR, the European Community and public and external organizations. He is author of more than 90 scientific articles published on peer reviewed journals, proceedings of congress, book chapters and review articles and he has served as reviewer for the following scientific journals: Journal of Lightwave Technology, Applied Physics B, Photonics Technology Letters, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Letters, Optics Express and Journal of Quantum Electronics. Dr. Maurizio Casalino is currently a member of IEEE and a member of the Optical and Photonic Italian Society (SIOF).
