Short Bio

Volodymyr Tkachenko received his Ph.D in Radio-physics from V.N. Karazin Kharkov National University (Ukraine) in 1998 with a work on teraherz molecular lasers with optical pumping. He worked there as a senior staff scientist of Quantum Radio-physics Department investigating laser cavities and waveguides and laser systems for exploration of high temperature plasma, semiconductors and polymers in infrared and teraherz wave ranges. In 2003 he became a researcher of the CNR-SPIN Institute and from 2015 he is with CNR-ISASI Institute. His current research activities include computerized optical microscopy, plasmonics and soft matter physics for applications in photonics and biosensors, electrohydrodynamic and electrokinetic phenomena. Author of 2 patents, more than 50 papers in international peer reviewed journals, 20 conference proceedings and 50 presentations at international conferences (11 invited).
