Asimov Award 2022

Asimov Award 2022

The Asimov Award is an award for scientific dissemination, a project for secondary schools promoted by the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) with the collaboration of numerous institutions, universities and organizations, including ISASI. The goal is to spread scientific culture among young people, promoting interactions between schools, universities and the world of research and encouraging exchanges and opportunities for mutual enrichment with the humanities.
In its seventh edition, the event ended withjoint winners. The winning books are Agnese Collino’s with “La malattia da 10 centesimi”, published by Codice Edizioni, and Licia Troisi’s with “La sfrontata bellezza del cosmo” published by Rizzoli. The results were announced during the national awards ceremony, which took place online on 12 May, on the social channels of the ASIMOV Award and curated by the INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratories. As per tradition, the winning books were elected by the students of Italian secondary schools, having read and reviewed the five finalist books.

The real protagonists of the award and the award ceremony are the students who make up the jury of the ASIMOV Award. Students are, in turn, evaluated for their reviews by regional committees, including the Campania one to which ISASI researchers belong.

This edition saw more than 12,300 students from 272 Italian schools participate with great enthusiasm and an increasingly solid collaboration between the school and the world of research and culture.
The regional award ceremony for the Campania region took place on 10 March on the social channels of the INFN Section of Naples.
