For Schools

ISASI has participated in the “A School of Astroparticles” initiative since 2018.
Each year, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) Section of Naples, the Department of Physics “E. Pancini” and the SPIN and ISASI Institutes of the CNR announce a competition for the upper secondary schools of the Campania Region. Teachers and students are engaged in general physics-related projects: from nanotechnologies to medical physics, natural radioactivity, and the various scenarios opened up by Modern Physics, up to astroparticle physics. Information and scientific data recorded by the cosmic ray telescope installed in the Toledo metro station are used in the latest area. Students also have the opportunity to experience scientific paths in real research laboratories.
Eventually, the students present their works to the public and the other schools. A commission of experts awards prizes to the most representative results.
All the activities carried out to participate in the competition can be integrated into School-Work Alternation projects.
