PURECIRCLES project

PURECIRCLES project

PURECIRCLES is the acronym of the project titled “Maximising resource use efficiency within the water-nutrient-energy nexus for sustainable agriculture in marginal environments” funded under the Notice PRIMA 2022 (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area) art. 185 of TFUE, approved by the European Parliament and Council 2017/1324, July 4,2017. (Project code PRIMA22_00082, MIUR dd_n._3153_del_01-03-2023, CUP B83C22009530005) The goal is to design and implement a water management plan (MP) for field crops assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) in combination with a hydroponic water reclamation system (HRS). The AI-based SYSTEM will integrate all technical measurements (and their adjustable parameters), physical sensors (e.g. temperature, humidity, etc.), agronomic data and information collected by web servers (e.g. weather forecasts). ISASI researchers oversee the goal and conceptual framework of PureCircles, which is to design and implement an artificial intelligence (AI)–assisted water management plan (MP) for field crops in combination with a hydroponic water reclamation system (HRS).

ISASI staff: Marco Leo (project chair), Pierluigi Carcagnì and Marco del Coco.
